ABOUT ME 

Roy Francis is an award-winning former BBC' Songs of Praise' Producer who in the 1980s produced the ground-breaking gospel music series 'People Get Ready, which was shown on Channel 4 on British Television. He provides media and related services for artists, churches, Christian agencies, and corporate businesses. Since 2000 and as part of his own production company, Roy staged at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon South London, 'The Donnie McClurkin live in London' CD recording and filmed the DVD that accompanied it. In 2006 he was part of the team that brought the 'Amazing Grace' film to Britain starring, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ioan Gruffudd, Albert Finney, Romola Garai, and Michael Gabon. ​In 2011 he teamed up with 'Soul Marketing' to produce a series of award-winning programmes for Black Entertainment Television in America (BET), featuring Wendy Williams, Tray Songz, Tracee Ellis Ross, and many other productions.

Apart from working in television, Roy is also a gospel music promoter, and over the years, has promoted many of the biggest names in American and British gospel music. These have included American gospel artists Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklyn, Donni McClurkin, Michelle Williams, Helen Baylor, Alvin Slaughter, Virtue, Karen Clark,
and Trini-Tee 5:7. The British artists are no less impressive: Muyiwa, Graham Kendrick, Tim Hughes, Noel Robinson, The London Community Gospel Choir, The Croydon Adventist Choir, and many more. 

 

Roy has now added another string to his bow and is today the author of two books, 'Windrush and the Black Pentecostal church in Britain' and 'How to Make Gospel Music Work for You.' The first book is a personal account of the Windrush years and the establishment of Black Caribbean Churches in Britain, while the second book is written as
a 'road map' for gospel and independent artists who are struggling with their music and want to make a success of it in today's digital and social media age.

 

Today, Roy spends most of his time writing, researching, and providing consultancy to churches, businesses, and the wider community. He is also helping to develop the next crop of British gospel artists.
