ROYFRoy Francis Productions is headed by Roy Francis who for many years was a producer of BBC’s ‘Songs of Praise’ and during that time won the coveted (CBC) Gold Award for a programme on the American Evangelist, Billy Graham. Roy was also responsible for the groundbreaking gospel music series, ‘People Get Ready’ shown on Channel 4 in the 1980s and his list of programme credits includes religious, music and factual programmes.

In 1999 Roy left the BBC to start his own production company. His first project was the, ‘Donnie McClurkin live in London’ recording and DVD for Verity Records in the States. Since then the company has gone on to provide a range of services for artistes, churches, Christian agencies and corporate businesses. These have included, television productions, conferences, events, concerts, gala dinners, launches, exhibitions etc. In the early years the business was mainly known for promoting and staging gospel concerts with many of the biggest names in American and British gospel music including: Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklyn, Donni McClurkin, Michelle Williams, Helen Baylor, Alvin Slaughter, Virtue, Karen Clark, Trini-Tee 5:7, Muyiwa/Riversongz, Graham Kendrick, Tim Hughes, Noel Robinson, The London Community Gospel Choir and many more.

In recent years the company  was responsible for the marketing and promotion of Amazing Grace the film to the public and specifically to the general church community. The company was awarded the DVD distribution rights of the film to the church and secondary school communities.

Recently the company has teamed up with ‘Soul Marketing’ to stage and produce a series of ‘Getting to Know’ celebrity events for BET television. Guests like, chat show host-Wendy Williams, Hip hop artiste-Tray Songz and American actress Tracee Ellis Ross have all appeared live before an invited celebrity audience. During that time the company produced the Award winning promotional DVD, ‘Wendy Williams in London’

Today with the changing nature of the music business there is a need for a new approach to how music is done. What this mens is that the company now specialise on the agency and artiste development side of its business. This means working with artistes who see their project more as a business than simply trying to secure recording contract.  Only signing artistes to the company who are willing to embrace the opportunities that the internet and social media social offers and those who are able to raise the finance for their project and are willing to work in a new and creative way.
